Our hunting business is situated in the remote southeastern corner of Montana. The country we live in is very scenic with an abundance of excellent wildlife, including mule deer, antelope, elk and upland game birds. We also border the Custer National Forest.

Blame Ed
It all began on a cold winter day, when a call came in from Ed
He seemed so intent on telling me things, so I listened to what he said
Ed talked of big bucks and of big bulls, and how our hunt should go
I didn't have the heart to say, I don't even have a bow
He said you need an archery stamp, just go online to apply
So I thought, oh well, what the heck, the least I could do is try
The weeks went by and what do you know, I made the lucky draw
I knew right then that it was time to give ole Ed a call
Good, he said, your all set up, September's when you go
but still there was that one thing, I didn't have a bow
In June I finally bought a bow and much to my surprise
I could really shoot that thing, and make the arrows fly
The trouble was - it's where they went - I hit both trees and fence
My wife said you would put that thing away if you had any sense
But I kept on because of Ed, thinking dag nabit, why'd he call
there is just no way that I can hit a big bull elk this fall
As time went by, I did progress and then when my time came
I released three arrows and one hit where I had aimed
Now here I am with my big bull, that came in like a tank
and thinking, hey, now don't blame Ed, it's him you need to thank
Bev and Ed
I had a great time. Thanks so much. Jon C.

Cautiously we watched and did some cow calling, approaching to within 50 yards of the bull. We then saw a sight we surely did not expect. The bull elks horns were locked with another bull elk. The two had been fighting for breeding rights and one had been killed in the fight. However, the horns had locked together, making it impossible for the second bull elk to free himself of the ruins. We approached within 15-20 yards and I was able to shoot the live bull.
